Bankruptcy

If you are struggling with unmanageable debt, bankruptcy could provide the debt relief you need. While bankruptcy may not be right for everyone, it has helped millions of people find hope for a better future. There are two basic types of bankruptcies, chapter 7 and chapter 13. We can help you determine which type of bankruptcy is more appropriate for your situation.

Chapter 7

A chapter 7 is the ‘classic’ bankruptcy that most people think of where your debts are discharged and you are left with a clean slate. For this chapter, there are both income and asset limits. Generally, you can protect important assets such as your home and vehicle. This chapter can also help stop garnishments and evictions, if necessary.

Chapter 13

A chapter 13 is a debt repayment plan where your debts are reorganized into one monthly payment. After your reorganized debt payments are made for 3-5 years, any remaining debt may be eligible for discharge at that time. This chapter can help prevent foreclosures to keep your home, protect other assets, reduce interest rates, and/or reduce your total monthly debt payments

Simple Wills

It is never too early to start thinking about your estate plan. Losing a loved one is extremely difficult, and although having a Will does not help with their grief, it can erase extra burdens that might otherwise be placed on your loved ones. Having a Will ensures you can name someone you trust as a guardian for your minor children, or that your assets are simply divided the way you intended. We can help you by drafting both a valid Will and a medical health care directive so you can have peace of mind regarding your estate.

Uncontested Divorce

Sometimes marriages end and divorce is necessary, but that does not mean that the process must be lengthy, complicated, or ‘ugly’. A divorce is considered uncontested if you and your spouse have already worked out the property, support and custody issues in your marriage. We can help you by drafting and filing all necessary Court documents to legalize your agreement. Our goal is to keep parties amicable and encourage co-parenting habits, while also facilitating the divorce quickly and inexpensively for you as well.
